interior carpet paint

This may be a stupid question, but here it goes. I recently swapped my 2nd row bench for buckets, but the carpet on the back of the buckets is black, while the rest of my interior is grey. Is there a way to paint that carpet to match? Maybe some type of fabric paint? Theres no money in the budget to recover the seats, so thats not an option, plus the leather is in great condition. The person in the third row is the only one who sees it, so its not that big of a deal, but if i can change it inexpensively, i'd like to.
