Shortly and sweetly, they will give a sound comparable to that of a unicorn giving birth to a clown that shoots lasers out of his eyes, pretty much the best I can come up with

--This is the performance section so almost every thread will be about the following car add-ons

A CAI "cold air intake" will give a little more sound with better throttle response (great choice)
price range ($150 to $400)

Muffler & Exhaust Systems they will both give you an upgraded sound and but the exhaust system with give you better performance gains while the muffler will give you little to nothing

(muffler---/goodfor/---sound)

(exhaust syste/goodfor/mpg/sound performance)

Muffler Price Range
($50-$125)
Exhaust System Price Range
($350-$1000)

Hope this Helps

From my experience, it seems like an intake system will increase the throatiness of the engine, and the sound inside the cabin, and is sound for YOUR enjoyment, while an exhaust system made my truck sound better on the outside. same with my girl's caliber. Intake increased in-cabin sound, exhaust increased outside sound

An aftermarket high flow intake will move more air into your engine more efficiently. An upgraded exhaust wil move more exhaust out of your engine more efficiently. They will both give enhance performance and make the truck sound tougher.
Intake and exhaust are usually the first modifications people make when upgrading engine performance.

Cold Air Intake

There Are Brands Named

Spectre
Volant
K&N
Banks Air

They all look different but all have about the same gains as well as flaws

Here is my Spectre 9900 Cold air Intake

Exhaust System

MBRP
Flowmaster
Magnaflow
Gibson
Corsa
Borla

The exhaust system all depends on what setup you are doing

(dual or single)

And the sound

(Flowmaster & Gibson "Loud")
(The rest fairly quiet)

If you get a CAI you may get some response from it but paired with a BlackBear custom tune, it will make your vehicle come alive. Do it!!
