HID ballast noise

I am having installed a complete new sound system in my truck these days. The dealer/installer says the HID ballasts are making noise.
Is this right?
Are there any other types of ballast that are better/making less or no sound?

My ballasts make a whining sound, and so do my brother in laws. We both have ddm tuning

It's pretty normal to make some noise. Cheaper kits do tend to be noisier, but that doesn't mean getting an expensive one is going to be totally silent, either.

yep!! they are really bright at night!

Changed the stock amplifier with two Rockford ones. That took care of the unwanted noise problem.
Guess that stock Bose system ain’t as good as they say it is.
