Is there a (simple) mod where I can have low beams and high beams on at the same time?

If he doesn't need it, I should be able to grab that. I don't need to hit another deer...lol Maybe we can trade something...

Doing the 4-high mod will not improve your chances of avoiding a deer, in fact it will do the opposite.

When both the high and low beams are on, the pupils adjust to the stronger foreground low beam light and are less sensitive to the weaker long distance high beam. So unless the deer is but 20/30ft in front of the truck, in which case depending on speed it's likely too late, your ayes are less likely to spot it at an avoidable distance through the high beams. Although less light is put on the road with simply the high beams on, the eyes adjust to that ambient light and everything within it is seen clearer.

This is nothing against the 4-high mod per se, but this is the reason they don't come like that from the factory. :Handshake:

almost all vehicles come with a the 4 high mod now. My dads 06 chevy 2500HD came with a 6 Hi mod factory(DRL, highs, and driving lights) Mom's 06 escalade had 4 hi factory. moms 2013 hyundai has 4 high. All of these vehicles have been bought new from the stealership. I could go on and on. They are safer. Your eyes may train themselves to focus on the brighter clsoer light, but when you move your eyes even a twitch they have to re-adjust. Your eyes are never concentrated on one spot, unless you are staring. If your staring then a deer in front of you doesnt matter, you'll hit anything.

On another note, I love my 4 high mod on my truck! I live in Lubbock and going to school out here. I drive 400 miles to get home and the last 200 hundred is in the dark and hogs are everywhere. Havent hit one yet because i saw them 200 yards down the road with the high beams on and the lows.

Do a google search and there are tons of write ups on how to do it. I had mine done in 30 mins after I had to go to the parts store and pick up a relay. I really don't see why people would go and spend 30 bucks on this. I think I remember that fsc had a really good write up with pics.

Good to know sun. I did mine over 6 months ago and still no problems and I do a lot of night driving. I will keep any eye out but for the 5 bucks I paid for the switch ill just wate till it goes out and then start looking for a better switch out of a car or truck. Those got to be better than auto parts stores.

Everyone, do yourself a favor and DO NOT EVER waste your money on Pianless anything. It is overpriced garbage at best.

Take the kit I was suckered into for my GTO. The main ignition wires were 2 ft short, passenger headlights were 2 ft short. The wiring for my air controls was dinky 18 ga, the factory 14 ga burned so I could only imagine what would happen with the smaller wire. The wires for the rear were also short. I have more splices in my $750 pile of wires painless calls a quality product than I had in my 43 year old heavily molested factory wiring.
