Header question

Looking to get some of The Speed Engineering long tube headers and y pipe and was wondering if there was enough room to put some high flow cats in? Some pics would be great if you've done it.

I had some long tubes installed in my 03 with their offroad Y. My guy said there was no room to install cats.

I had room, I used the Random technology C6 high flow catalic converters but had to get them welded. When I have time i'll take some pictures

I installed american racing headers 1 7/8 and used their cats. As you can see they fit, but hey have to be rather small. Usually high flow cats run on the larger size.

Good question. I've been wondering this for some time myself.

I'm going to be using Magnaflow high flow cats for my install. They started out as 2.5" but I turned them down to 3" to make them as small and compact as possible.

The driver side cat is located before the transmission mount and the passenger cat is after the transmission mount.

I have been eyeballing those Speed Engineering headers myself for the last few days. Im just done dealing with fitment issues like on my 99 with OBX headers. Still trying to decide....

Good luck if you get them. They may work for you, but my guy had a hell of a time getting the y pipe lined up with the rest of the exhaust. I also had to remove the prop shaft as 2 header tubes on the driver side were rubbing on it. If you do get them, don't buy their gaskets or header bolts--get your own. Theirs suk! Just mo tho.

I actually have the pics on my build thread. There's no prop shaft on, so you won't see any rubbing now.
