Half heat

Ok strange heating issues going on...had no heat, shop replaced the thermostat...replaced the heater door actuator... now I have heat coming out of the center vent only and the drivers side of the defrost...the other side of the defrost blows cold air, the vents blow cool air also...anybody else have this issue with answers to fix it is getting cold here...lol...my wife told me she smelled something funny also, she was following this old truck and thought that was the bad smell but when he turned and she kept driving and stopped for an erand it still smelled when she got back then it went away...

96 Yukon, no rear heat/air installed, only front

well i went out to take a look at the yukon and it looks like there is another actuator for the 'blending' floor, middle vent, defrost you know.... i am going to tackle this one myself and save some pennies because when i went to go get a flashlight i noticed that my right front tire was flat and need to get new tires...grr...but hey they will look better than the almost bald ones...anybody have Toyo HT tires?

But I don't have this issue... I wish it was cold here or at least cooler.... It was 85 today!!!!!!!

Well might have found the problem...there is an 'arm' that I guess, controls the direction of the air flow, that had come off somehow...haven't driven it yet to know if that fixed it or not...will find out this weekend sometime...lol 85degrees I wouldn't mind that...but I do like the cool nights...

Still no luck with the defrost heat... GM shop said they would have to take dash apart to see what is restricting the flow... they said would be very labor intensive... I remember seeing on the site somebody did a dash removal... that will be my next step to tackle... if anybody else has any tips they have to share with dash removal that would be great...

Got Heat! If anybody was wondering the problem was the HVAC was shorted out...you may wonder 'how did that happen' well let me share, one of the RCA jacks on the headunit didn't have a rubber booty on and it touched the circuit board and ruined part of it, found one on ebay, bought it and works great, dealer wanted 280 something for a new one 170 something for a used AND 1 hour of labor...good grief...got mine less than 100. Later
