grill bowtie removal

how do they come off on my 01'? on my 03' silverado there were sheet metal nuts on the back, but i don't feel any on my hoe.

i need to take it out to get it painted with my other stuff.

On my 2001 Tahoe there were 2 clips in the back. Take a small mirror and look behind the emblem after taking the top plastic cover off and you will see the clips. Just take some type of hook and pull the tab out and the emblem forward on the same side and it just slides out.
