Figured I would pass this along to other in case anyone is hard wiring their GPS. I used a Gibson USB direct wire cable connected to a switched power source and then ran the cable as shown:
All you have to do is drill a hole, cut out the back end of the whole to allow space for the wire. Also, behind your dash bezel there is a edge that you need to cut out so that you don't crimp your wire.
