Just wrapping up a long weekend in Las Vegas. In the entire time we were here, I saw one single Lincoln Navigator, whereas Escalades, Yukon Denalis and Suburbans were literally everywhere.

What advantage do the big GMs have over the Ford SUVs when it comes to black car service? Is it reliability/ease of service? Ride and passenger comfort? Something else?

Just curious what these limo companies all seem to agree on…would love your thoughts.

Whenever you see government vehicles roll in to anywhere in a motorcycle escorted line, it almost always is the large GM vehicles/SUV platforms. The black car services want that same look for their customers and seems to give the customers a feeling of security.

Reliability probably plays a role, even if just perceived and not actual. If a larger company, it’s easier to maintain a fleet of same vehicles. Also resale value may be a factor. In some of these circles it’s often whatever the other guy drives, the next guy will get. GM has been king in this segment for a while and not something that happened overnight. Overall, GM understands their customer base well and the sales figures show it.
