gears clunking

so recently something in my rear end is clunking. has that sound when you rub ur tires, if u know what i mean. its not jerking or anything but it clunks almost constaomently. someone said that it doesn't seem like the spider gears, he thinks a loose pinion or something. anyone have any clues?

Could be the G80, the limited slip getting ready to go. Open up the cover and see if anythign jumps out as being wrong

yeah sounds like the limited slip or even like you might be low on fluid, bearings could be shot as well. Pull the cover and see if anything looks out of place or if you have any side to side movement in the carrier. Just grab the carrier with you hands and try to move it, it shouldn't move at all side to side/

If your pinion is moving it WILL grenade itself pretty soon. Start buying parts. LOL

should also have metal shavings in the fluid if somethings about to let go in it.

pull rear diff cover, see if the G80 like mentioned exploded.

If so, time for a TrueTrac.

pay close attention to the fluid coming out. It could tell you a lot. Looking for peices and so on.

pulled the cover and never seen anything like this. limited slip, gone. bearings, absolutely gone. carrier, shot. anyone know what i should do now?haha
