My 1998 Tahoe is stuck in Park. I did a brake job and when I finished, I can't get the truck out of park. Any ideas?

Likely the brake pedal switch may have partially failed and the interlock is not releasing. Can you turn the key just to unlock the wheel and move the shifter just fine but with full power on and brake depressed it stays locked? Do you here a clicking sound on the right side of steering column when you depress the brakes when key is full on? Check on fuse #16 TURN B/U so see if it has fizzled on you.

I jiggled the brake light switch, and it worked just fine after that. I did not have brake lights before now all of them work except the third brake light. can this be the brake switch also?

it uses the same wire on switch to feed the center high and go thru the turn signal switch to feed the lower tails. they split in different directions thru a splice. the center high is of the led type. Un-mount it and get a test probe on it to check for problems.
