I am trying to replace the rear fuel tank strap on my 2002 Yukon - 4 dr - 5.3L. The strap that I purchased is - ST237 - Which is what both O'reilly and Autozone have listed for the part number. Napa has Part #: NOE 578237 - Which I havent looked at yet but would assume the end numbers 237 mean it should be the same.

My question is why doesn't it fit??????? I have the tank lifted up as high as it will go using a jack and 2x4 across the tank without starting to push the tank in. The strap comes up about 3" short (That's what she said) WHY?????

The webbing was just to get a picture of the gap.

Thoughts?

If the ST239 turns out to be slightly too long, you can put a shim of sorts between the tank body and the strap. But I would think that you compared the old with the current new strap and the next new strap.
