Fuel gage stuck on full

My fuel gage floats when its in park and started. it goes from full to half to 3/4 to 1/4. when i put it in gear it stops where it is at. when i put it in park it moves again

ever since i had problems with the evap system and my fuel pump replaced my fuel guage has never worked properly

I just had this problem on my 2000 escalade. I replaced the whole fuel pump assembly, and the sensors on the tank and it works perfectly now! I was pulling a P0440 code which is a evap code, i replaced everything on the tank and also the purge solenoid on the motor and works like brand new!
