Forced Regen

Expecting to soon have my 2025 Yukon LZ0 back from dealer service after 6+ weeks. During that time it has been driven no more than in and out of service bays in addition to some hours of simply idling.

In anticipation of this long-awaited homecoming, I am planning an out of town trip to test ongoing infotainment System repairs. Since this trip will be an ersatz Carbon Run, I want to manually start a Regen once I hit the open highway.

I have no scanner but read that some types can initiate a Regen. Has anyone done this and is it even advisable to circumvent the emissions computer calling for it? The truck has 8800mi. - much of it highway.

I don't really understand why you'd want to do this. If the vehicle needs it, it will kick one off. A few hours of idling or short tripping Isn't going to hurt it anything. One good 50 mile rip and it'll all be back to normal. Overthinking it.....

Mighty curious as to why she has been at dealer for 6+ weeks. I've got a 25 duramax denali also with 9000 mi. Zero issues knock on wood....

Wow we pretty much on the same page. I got the 20" wheels, sure wish 18's were offered. I like more rubber ride too. Got the same grill too except I had mine painted that way. Instead of paying for the Denali reserve pkg, I changed all the emblems to black, replaced my own mirror caps to black and got "Wheel Exchange" for black OEM wheels. Black on white can't be beat. Good luck with your exchange.
