also i was asking about e3 on my post and everyone said stay with sc or t55's or w/e but my neighbor loved his e3.54's said they worked wonders on his lawnmower snowblower and expedition.....there warranty v

Picke dup the tr55 plugs from napa, not bad at $2.09, now got to find wires. Anybody got feedback on running these wires? says its 748gg delco with heat shields

Iridium plugs are a requirement because the electrode wears much slower and the gap stays in spec much longer and they have the correct electrical resistance. NGK makes the AC Delco plugs that come from the factory. The NGK TR5IX is the OEM replacement. I wouldn't use anything else if you want your engine to run right and last a while. I use AC Delco wires because I know they have the correct resistance and there isn't much price difference when compared to after market.
If you use after market plugs or wires, be sure they conform strictly to OEM specs. Plugs or wires that cause too much resistance will still work but it causes your coils to work harder which will shorten their lifespan. Also, once your plugs start to wear, the gap will increase much quicker and the spark will be much weaker. This causes less efficient combustion which leads to more unburned fuel in the exhaust gases which will cause the engine to lean the mixture resulting in power loss and in some cases will cause your cats to burn hotter and eventually fail.
These exact circumstances happened to my first Tahoe at 150,000 miles. Replaced the cats at $400 each, and 3 weak coils at $90 each. The mechanic showed me the plugs he removed from the motor and they were way out of spec with only 10,000 miles on them.
I'll never use after market plugs or wires again.

For those of you running Taylor wires, how long are they?
I have an '03 yukon with the melco coils and need 10.5"+ long wires. Summit racing doesn't list the taylor wires for my truck but lists them for pretty much everything else.
Edit: I check taylor's website and the 53005 are 10" long. Not sure they'll fit the melco coils.

I've used OEM AC Delco plugs and wires exclusively for almost 5 years with nary a hiccup. Sure, they aren't the bling bling super-duper awesome hot sh*t plugs and wires that are the latest craze...but they work great, they are reliable, and theres no need to upgrade either item unless you're significantly modded and making lots of power. Besides, they last for ~100K miles (depending on the driver, of course). I'd rather do it once and be done with it for a while - the rear plugs can be a bit of a ***** on these things.
Speaking of which, I'm about to order a new set for the burb at 230K - I order most of my parts from www.rockauto.com. Great experiences with them. Wire sets are around $58, and plugs are around $5.50/ea there IIRC. They might be cheaper elsewhere but I'm ordering a ton of stuff from them all at once so I really don't care. By the way, here's a 5% coupon code for them: 51135383431335
Enter that number in the "how did you hear about us" block of the shopping cart and it will be applied when you check out. Saved me a fair chunk of change, about $40 off total (then again, it's a $900+ order). That number expires on May 15th though, so going if you want to use it.
