Engine dying while driving. No check engine light. No codes. It has been making a sound lately that sounds like a bad pulley bering or a loose shroud. Can't find it yet even with my mechanic stethoscope. I changed the idler pulley with no change. It was low on coolant, I put some in, died while testing. What are your thoughts?

So will it start and stay running as long as ur on the throttle? Pulley might be a different issue.

does it do it more when it’s hot and if so when you take your gas cap off after driving does it take in a lot of air at the cap

So far it is not battery, alternator, fuses. Dash light up but nothing happens when full turn. Im not thinking starter or wire because that is not in the equation when rolling. Im thinking ignition switch but more likely the camshaft position sensor. Could explain the strange new sound.
Could be the coolant temperature sensor. Haven't looked into if it n But now it won't start haha! Here we go again. Didn't feel like the fuel pump because it dies instantly but Ill pull my fuel line without removing pressure. It's not bad when you are expecting it.
So right now I am ordering a camshaft position sensor.
Thoughts? Ill keep you posted.

"Dash light up but nothing happens when full turn" explain this better
the dash being goofy and engine dying points to a electrical problem

Be sure to do the crankshaft position relearn (CASE) after changing the CKP sensor.
For preventative mx I just changed the crankshaft position sensor in my 07 6.2 w/213k miles and there was NO need to do a relearn.
Of course I had the battery disconnected when I did this.
Same goes for the camshaft position sensor.

Right. Usually it's not needed. But some people have had random misfires (P0300) and doing the CASE relearn can cure (or prevent) that. It's easy and recommended by GM after a sensor change, so why not do it?
