The clip on the electrical connector has a secondary gray clip that has to be pulled out before you can pinch the black tab on the actual connector to remove it. How important is that secondary gray clip? One of the damned things popped right in two when I pulled it off.

i would assume the secondary clip is there just to make sure the normal plug doesn't accidentally come loose. I would suppose after so many miles the vibrations could cause the plug to come loose and cause driveability issues...i would say it is up to you if you want to replace it or not(it may never come loose, or it could pop off tomorrow)..but i would guess they can't be that expensive to replace.

That's how I looked at it too. I just wonder how difficult it will be to find one. I need to replace the brake vacuum hose, it has a soft spot in it, so I think I'll take one of the clips in to the parts store with me and see what they say.
