Ok so a while ago I went out to my truck after it sitting for a while and it was dead. Not normal but not a big deal, jump it and go along with life. Then the next day its dead again so I jump it again and started wondering. The rest of the weekend it kept starting and running fine. A week later after sitting for the week... Dead.
Went to Autozone and got a brand new Optima Yellow Top
Truck worked great again all weekend and I figured the problem was solved and it was just an old battery + winter cold...
Then the next weekend I go back and try to fire it up. Dead again. Now I am a bit pissed. Got a jump from a minivan (funny hearing the engine almost die from the load on the tiny alternator) The next day I walk out to my truck and the radio is playing... random
So thinking the radio had something to do with it I unplugged the headunit from the harness next time I let it sit. Come back and the truck fires right up...
Now I know that the radio is somehow the problem. Anyone ever had this issue? Is it a wiring thing or is my headunit screwed?
I also have a viper alarm I recently got put in which no longer remote starts or locks the doors since the dead battery issues so that's another problem...
