Dude..... are you kidding me?????? WTF! On the rear springs???? WOW. I've pulled me at least five times with a $26 2 ton jack from walmart and a 4x4 for more hight until I bought a proper jack. The one in the pic look like it goes to 19-20'' how didn't you have enough height? Anyway that sucks ass and looks like it hurt a lot......damn, that is really ******. Really sorry to hear that, at least you can still drive'r once you get your arm and truck screwed back together.....

Still not sure how you managed to do that, did you jack it up from the rear or the frame in front of the rear wheel? I can see if you tried to jack it up all the way in the back where it was sitting like 5'' higher not having enough clearance but not if you jacked the frame in front of the rear wheel.......

yea i was jacking it from the rear so i could do both at once, like i said... my mistake was not being patient. Had i been more patient i would not have made such a stupid mistake

Damn bro. Like everyone else said, lucky it wasn't your head or anything worse. Good luck on the surgery and recovery man.
I always use jack stands, and if I don't need the wheels off the ground, I use my ramps.
As for your neg camber, adjust the keys where you want the front to sit, then you can loosen the bolts to the upper control arms and pull the arms outwards to get it closer to spec until you get it aligned.

sweet man, the neg. camber is rediculous!!!

We've all been there..... the manic mechanic....gotta' get it done NOW!!!! Shit, I had to redo half my e-fan wiring today for the same reason....but a broken PIN is no where close to a broken arm....... damn, I still can't believe that you managed to jack yourself up so bad pulling springs.......

Your wife must have been pissed as soon as she realized you were OK for the most part.... I know mine would have "told me so" for days if I managed something like that.

Damn, that ****** sucks. I hear a lot of you saying its your worst fear, i hardly ever think about it anymore. Maybe its cause i work on cars everyday. I do make sure i have jackstands under the truck if im working at home, and if im working on a big ass truck at work, support the rear with a pole jack. One time that had me nearly shittin bricks was at work, i was bullshittin with two co-workers under a car racked up in the air. All 3 of us were under the car when a earthquake hit. Luckily it wasnt that big of a quake, but it shook the car and all the racks.

yes, only 30 seconds before i broke the arm, my friend was under there doing the same thing.... i told him to get out because i knew what we were doing wasnt safe...

like grocery getter said... i have the jack stands, i was just rushing and not taking the time to protect myself... simple case of thinkin "it wont happen to me"

.... and the truck still sits unfinished.... :(

I'm still trying to picture this. Did it fall on you and someone had jack it up to get it off of you? My fear has always been that it would fall on me and I wouldn't be able to get it off. I'd just have to yell until someone heard me and get it off.

For your wife and kid's sake, glad you will be ok!

no, my arm was pivoted between the axle and the rear cross member that sits right behind the axle. the cross member was 9 inches higher then the axle when it was jacked. when the truck fell it through my arm between the two... the arm came out easy because it was floppy and broke

OMG I just had to set down my Sunday beverage. We need to let Ty's unfortunate experience remind everyone to be safe. It's just not worth a head or being paralyzed. I would really hate to read something really terrible happened to one of my fellow bretheren on this board because they weren't being safe. Take it a step further, double it up when you can. :Handshake:

I say sticky this one. We don't have any threads about the importance of using caution and proper equipment on this board. This is a school of hard knocks lesson. Sorry about your arm Ty, that must have hurt man but I'm glad you're ok.
