I have a 2001 Suburban 1500 LT and I had issue with the dome light switch. I had problems with the dome lights not coming on and I would hear buzzing noise from the dimmer/headlight switch. I replaced the switch, and the dome lights worked ok for about 6 months. Now the dome lights stay on whether the doors are open or closed, locked or unlocked. I cannot turn them off with the override, the only way to turn them off is by removing the fuse. Anyone have any fixes to this, not sure if replacing the switch again will fix the problem for good or set me back again.

Have you looked at the switch at the doors that activate the dome light when the door opens?

Unplug the switch from the back and see if that turns off the lights, then you'll know if it's the switch or something else.

I tried to figure what's going on I unplugged the switch box and the lights stay on. If I removed either courtesy light fuse or the tbc fuse from the fuse box under the hood the interior lights turn off. But soon as I put the fuse back, open the door or hit the unlock button on the key fob they come back on and stay on until I remove the fuse again. Also to help I did replace the headlight dome over-ride switch box with one off of ebay not sure if that maybe causing the problem. It worked fine for about a year and then I started having problems with the interior lights not cutting off when doors are closed.
