Have a 2009 GMC yukon and want to put HIDs on it. Would like to see pictures of both the 6ks and 8ks please so I can decide. Thank you.

I've had both. The 8k will have a little bit more of a blue tint to it. Depending on the company you go with will also vary (ddmtuning.com versus xantec bulbs may be slightly different shades although both are 8k). I have the 35w 8k ddmtuning HID's below:

Apparently DDM Tuning's 6000K and 8000K bulbs are identical colors...and it's somewhere in the middle of the two ratings, I believe. They just market them as separate bulbs. It's a little shady, but they're so cheap it's hard to complain too much about them.

I have the 6000K bulbs from HID Gate on eBay. In my opinion, I wouldn't want anything bluer at all. In fact, if/when I need replacements I'm definitely going with 5000K to get more "white" in color.... You also lose output the higher you go.

I would recommend going either 5000K or 6000K. Stay away from 8000K...

Yes, it's hard to get a nicer solid blue now, we used to have a nice 10k blue that was bluer than DDM's, but right now with our newest batch of HID Guy HID Bulbs the colors are a bit toned down; anyone looking to try darker colors, we will have new samples of a deep blue within 2-3 weeks so keep in touch.

they just use a different scale. Its always better to ask what the color looks like before purchase. Compared to older kits we use to sell, your new color scale is also slightly different.

5k oe
6k WHITE
10k (8k) - White with alittle blue
12k (10k) - white with some blue

exactly why we switched up the scale, out here in california police are rediculous over small things like tint, smog, exhaust, and even your car being too low. (my 05 rsx type s)

so this color set up is alittle safer but still gives you a nice selection
