For me it was all about the engine. I had a '15 SLT and traded up to a '16 Denali within 18 months because it's so much better on the highway having that extra power. I recently picked up a '21 Tahoe and High Country was the only trim I considered because it's the only one with the 6.2. I was coming from a relatively fast BMW so the 5.3 was just not an option.
I get gas at Costco where it's premium or regular, and always get premium. But if I'm somewhere else I normally put in mid grade and it runs just fine.
