Our 2022 Tahoe RST was shipped on 12/11/2021 from texas headed to Wisconsin. The invoice says EXP I/T 12/28/21. Does that mean it will head north on 12/28 or expected at the dealer? I’ve bought many vehicles from this dealer but they are getting it from a related dealer for me. I put a deposit down on 12/16 and was told hopefully by the end of the month. All my dealer said today was it’s not at their sister dealer yet.
Any thoughts on time?
Chris

From what I have been told the date on the invoice is a crap shoot. Mine says shipped 12/20 and 1/5 delivery and last I knew it hadn’t left the rail yard yet. Your dealer should be able to track it via VinView. Mine is also shipping to WI.

EXP I/T stands for "Expires In/Transit

and notice that is the date the dealer starts incurring interest on the vehicle (Interest Commences) to ALLY. So when it does not arrive in time it costs the dealer more money.. Its the estimated shipping time under normal circumstances for it to arrive at the dealer.

Got a call from the dealer yesterday when they were closed! It’s delivered to the dealer in WI, and will be here Tues/Weds for us to pick up. It will be 6~8 days after the expected date

There is a similar thread going, but do dealers really have NO CLUE where their inbound "in transit" vehicles are?

Two weeks ago I got a text from the salesman with a screenshot from a computer screen that said 12/23. I still have no Tahoe. I've asked for updates and I get "no updates" for an answer. I'm looking forward to my new vehicle, but this is honestly ridiculous that they have no idea where their inbound product is.

Similar experience. If they do know where it is, they certainly were not helpful in relaying that information. Definitely not like Amazon/UPS/Fedex where you can track it, see where it is on a map.

GM chat is no better. They did send me a weekly status update email, but it was basically useless. Here's what I was told by them...

12/14: "The unit has been produced, released to the carrier and is waiting to be shipped."
12/22: "The unit has been produced and it’s currently in transit heading to Winston Salem, North Carolina."
12/29: "The unit has been produced but it’s not in transit yet. We do not have an Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) as to when it will be shipped to the dealership."

It supposedly went from produced to shipped to not shipped. I'm sure someone has access to the right information, but the people I dealt with did not or were just lazy.

I’m in the Raleigh, NC area and the dealer I have a Tahoe in transit to told me Winston-Salem can have issues. Originally he said the delivery date was this Monday (10th) but to be safe it has a window up until the 20th. He’s a straight up guy. Now it may show up Friday (7th) but we will see.

I failed to mention ours was delivered to the dealer last night. Supposedly the dealer looked, saw it was in Winston, called and put a “hot rush” on it which apparently means “sold and customer is waiting on it”. I’m in the Charlotte area. Now we’re waiting on the wheels to show up.

The salesman told me today that the Tahoes leave Arlington, TX and go to Kentucky (he may have said somewhere else, but it was central SE USA), then turn around and go back to Mobile, AL and then to dealers. He says he had no idea it was showing up today.

But yes the entire notification process sucked!

That’s great news. Maybe it just got held up by the holiday for delivery. How long did it take from when they finished production? Enjoy your new Tahoe!

I made the deposit on Dec 11. Arrived today. 3.5 weeks. Tahoe was on chevrolet.com less than 24 hours when I jumped on it.

Initial order: 12/10 - dealer had an allocation when I submitted the final build and deposit on that date.
1/11 update: Scheduled build date is the week of 1/24
