My cluster has been going in and out for a while (Everything dead except for back lighting). 2004 Tahoe Z71 package. Truck is totally loaded. Just picked it up. When I drove it home, everything was working fine (all gauges, odometer, etc). Next day, it was dead again.
So I am looking to get replacement, but want to add the transmission temperature gauge. I was told that with the Z71 package, the computer should already be programed for the temp gauge.
I know that you can replace with an Escalade, 2500HD, and possibly Denali 7 gauge cluster (replacing my 6 gauge cluster). I know the odometer needs programing, but is this pretty much plug and play otherwise?
Rockauto has a Esky gauge for $222. (with $300 core charge). Free shipping both ways. They are checking to see if i can send back a tahoe cluster. Core charge is same on Tahoe 6 gauge cluster.
