You can paint chrome. To paint my grill and bumper I sanded with 220 grit than primed with self etching primer, then resand and paint. A local shop would probably do it for $250-$300 for both pieces depending on how much the paint costs

I could be wrong, but I thought you couldn't paint chrome?

You can if you prepare it correctly. If you paint the chrome as it is it will flake. If you scuff it up either by sanding it REALLY good or sand blasting it (if it's the bumpers or something) then it's paint able. My rear bumper was painted red to match and came out great. No issues at all.

ok cool ill try to paint it myself i guess I just need to get matching paint somewhere. I think it will look really good if the chrome was matching the rest of the car. i also have a billet grill I painted black, it'l be ballin

I prepped the whole grill on my silverado then had it professionally finished in black...
sanded it down with 220
did a couple coats of bulldog adhesion promotor
then a few coats of duplicolor filler primer
sand with 320-400 try to sand as even as possible
few more coats of filler primer
sand with 600
If you want you can do another couple layers of primer
finish the sanding with 600 then 1000
It came out great
Ive done the same with my interior pieces, mirrors and front bumper pieces
just waiting for paint on those
