For reference this is 8" front 6" rear

It is 6" springs in the rear and the Cepek 6.5" front with 1.5" crank

Tires are a 35" on a 17x8" wheel with 4.5" back spacing

I've owned this truck for 14 years now. Once you lift it all the frame and wheel wells show more so more cleaning and sanding and painting. I don't drive this much. It is a toy now.

For what my advice is worth....or what I would do is lift it and find a set of used or cheap 35s and try that for a bit. then add the body lift and work up like that

Something else that never came up was gearing in the differentials. You most likely have 3.42 or 3.73 for 35s the ideal is 4.56 or 4.88. 38s are 4.88 to 5.13. My point is more cost. Driving on big tires with high ratios like stock is ******* the tranny and you will hate the power loss

Thanks again for all your input it's greatly appreciated! My dad had a 86 Chevy with a 18" lift and 44s so I know about the gearing indeed, I'm just not sure what size the tahoes will hold and how big it's got to be to fit the 38s with decent wheel gap, 37s would even be ok, I just want bigger than 35s honestly

37s will fit with the RCX and a 3" body. careful if you do a 10" wide wheels and some rubbing may still happen while lock to lock turning

I agree....a lot. Our trucks typically can crank to the stops with factory keys so you're good in my opinion

I'm meaning my factory wheels! With the 6" what's your opinion on that?

Also if I run a 3" body does anyone know how I can pull my reciever hitch up to my bumper, or is it gonna take building one?

Keep the hitch where it's at. Stronger there. Mine is still where it's at. I'm building a longer bumper so it looks right

I don't like the way it looks way down there! I'd just get rid of it before I'd leav it!

For what it's worth, I'm about 99% sure that FTS offers a 9" kit for the tahoe's. A good friend of mine has their 9" lift on his '97 silverado w/ a 3" bl and is clearing 38x15.50's w/ no rubbing or trimming at all. He had to trim on the same truck w/ 6" sus & 3" bl on 37x13.50's

Not sure how well this crosses over to the hoes, but it has got to be close

I have 4" pro comp rear leaf springs with a 4" block. In the front I have the Procomp 6" with keys and a ball joint flip cranked to about 8". Then I have a 3" body lift with the bumpers and nerf bars raised. The ball hitch still has a gap but I have just lived with it. I have no tire rub with the 38's.

Other things you will need to have is a 14 bolt rear end as well as a built transmission with a cooler and a longer driveshaft to handle the 8" of lift in the rear.

I have had this truck since it was brand new back in '96. I have rebuilt the front end twice. It has been lifted since the year 2000. You can run 38's with the ifs but if you wheel it you need the SAS.

Man your Tahoe is clean, I like it a lot, I just ordered my 6" yesterday, waiting on it to arrive, I also bought new upper, and lower balljoints, new inner and outer tie rod ends, new pitman and idler arms, I'm rebuilding the front when I install the lift!
So the whole ball joint flip, I just put the uppers in upside down right?
