Broken outer door handle?

My passenger side outer door handle has to be pulled out pretty far before it engages and opens the door, there is a lil play in the handle with the door closed, is there anything to lube, check or adjust? Or is replacement the only option?

More than likely replacement, unfortunately, is gonna be your fix. It’s usually one of two thing. Either the plastic clip that’s attached to the handle by a spring has slipped on the latch rod OR what probably happened, is the plastic end of the handle that you can’t see, that’s hooked to the spring internally, has at least cracked causing play, or completely broke.

The only way to really know though is to disassemble and find which part has failed.

Just to verify though, it is JUST the handle that has play and not the whole assembly correct?
