Long story short, a transmission fluid and filter service from a non-dealership service center (very reputable) ended up blowing out my control valve solenoid and the truck wont shift past 3rd gear.

I need to revert back to my stock tune files but when I go to copy the factory tune files it tells me"This file is not licenses for use with this AutoCal". The filea are .ctz files If I force a copy I get an error but end up with the files on the AutoCal.

I have the original e92_001.efi, e92_004.ctz, and t43_002.ctz files from the original grab before I sent to BB for tuning. Also on the AutoCal there are 2 files called StockECM.coz and StockTCM.coz.

I am following the BB instructions as per thier website but I can see why the CTZ files are getting kicked back as this AutoCAL has only been used for this vehicle.

Should I roll with the 2 COZ files on the AutoCal?

My appointment at the dealer is tomorrow and I would prefer not to reschedule but if I must I will. If anyone happens to see this and would be willing to chat, I can do skype, whatsapp, kik, or MS Teams. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Rolled the dice and went with the stockecm and stocktcm programs that were on the AutoCAL. Took it for a low grade test ride. Can def feel the difference in the shift points and it does seem stronger on the bottom end which would lead me to believe its weaker on the top end (expected cause the tune made a good amount of power at higher RPMs.). Couldn't do a WOT test - didn't want to take a chance. Hopefully the dealer can fix this and not rake me over the coals.

On a side note, the gent at the service center was in contact with his parts guys at a dealership looking to replace that solenoid at no charge to me until he found out it was part of the valve body. He said the parts guy at the dealership said he has a shelf full of these because they replace them a lot. That doesn't sound right to me. Anyone else have an issue with transmissions? 6L80E?

Thanks Galante for the bumps. Appreciate the effort.

The .coz files would be your tune files and stock files that we send to you to be flashed as needed. The .ctz is the original stock file that is sent to us to reconfigure and send back to you. You want to program .coz files. Also the .efi files are data logs that you send to us to use to build your tune. Let us know if that helps. Also give us a call 877-809-4070 if you have questions.

Just to give those interested an update, with the stock tunes back in place, I brought the truck to the dealership. They did a software version update to the trans (allegedly) and its shifting properly - no solenoid replacement, etc. When I picked up the truck the SES was on but it was running fine. I did notice on the ride home when the AFM kicked in it sounded like shit with the aftermarket exhaust and ran a little rough but cleared up with a little pressure on the gas pedal. Parked the truck and paid it no mind.

Next morning (Saturday) when I started it, it was running like 4 cylinders were missing and the DIC displayed "Engine Power Reduced". I shut it down and called the dealer and they said to drop off Monday.

I had an Optima battery that I was going to swap in to the truck before all this crap happened and decided I would do it Sunday since I couldn't go anywhere with the truck. I started it to rotate it in the driveway (I backed in the day before) and it ran fine , albeit the SES was still on. Spun the truck around, installed the battery, did a discharge on the system...and the truck starts, sans SES light. Took it out for a spin and all was well but the rough running came back when the AFM came on. I was more mindful of that and basically drove it for about an hour like it was a stick, shifting gears manually.

That night I went back home (north NJ) about 70 miles. Had it on tow mode hauling a trailer with a quad on it. Kept in manual for the most part with tow enabled so I was able to avoid the AFM coming on quite a bit but it did kick in occasionally. At about mile 65 the SES comes on again. This was Sunday night.

The truck has been fine since but I have been very mindful of the AFM and I am thinking the rough running through the aftermarket exhaust/intake when the AFM kicks on, is making the computer think there is a knock in the engine. I have no way to read the SES but its an educated guess. The replacement part for the AC is on back-order so I need to head back to the dealer for that install and I don't want to re-tune the engine until that's complete.

In the meantime I am going to need to do a record and download of my updated stock programming and keep those as new Stock settings so I don't confuse them with the original factory settings. I'll have to do another record and send off to BB for reprogramming with the performance parts now. I wish I could disable that AFM and see if that clears the SES completely, but I hope BB will see what that is when I send them the files.

Stay tuned!

Thanks for keeping this updated. Hopefully you're right with the SES and it's nothing major.

If you had a Range AFM Disabler laying around you could plug that in now that you're on stock tune files and see if disabling the AFM confirmed what you're thinking.
