Bilstein shocks

Thinking of new shocks for the 2000 Yukon XL. Stock height and 4x4. I am seeing that many of you are using the 5100's. Why those and not the HD's ? When I tried to find a part # for my truck they only listed the HD's. Any insight would be appreciated.

The 5100s have a bit firmer ride which some people prefer on these trucks. They make them for your truck. Here is a link to them:

i was going to lower mine, but i want ride quality to stay as much as possible.. are the HD's better for that then?

Scoop the hummer h3 bilstein HDs, they have an integrated bumpstop which makes these trucks ride/handle better

theyll work on any tahoe/yukon? both front and rear will fit? and with aftermarket lowering kits?

do you have the part #s for both front and rear?

is it

Front - F4-BE5-E672-H0
Rear - F4-B46-1698-H0

They changed the part #s again but most places know they're superceded, the front is correct though the part # for oe length hd rears is F4-BE5-E380-H0 iirc. You can use the oe length rears with a drop as long as shock extensions are installed, they're not recommended for a drop past 4" out back though.

if i go with bilsteins, i need to replace the stock springs as well right? i don't have air ride, just those big ass black shocks.

The rear may drop a bit but that isn't such a bad thing
