I cannot help you with your question, but other folks with direct knowledge will chime in on your question.

Can you define "better" shocks?

What characteristics are you looking for?

Better is a very relative term, some people might say softer is better while others think firmer is better.

When you say QA1 are you considering coilovers or just shocks?

I am currently running the Rancho 9 way adjustable struts up front and shocks out back on my 2/4 dropped Burb (used to be 4/6 dropped but recently raised it back up 2" all the way around) and am quite happy with them.

I’m lifted 2”, but enjoy my Rancho Rs5000 in the rear. Still rolling stock struts. And...that probably didn’t help you.

The shock extenders accomplish two things.

1. It moves the bottom of the shock further back which keeps it more vertical like it was from the factory.

2. It allows you to run slightly longer shocks without them bottoming out.

So if you go with QA1 shocks then I assume you could get whatever length you need and the extenders wouldn't really matter.

However keeping the shocks more vertical certainly helps with the ride quality.

Again, what are you looking to change about the ride quality?

I thought the Belltech SP shocks were too soft for my liking.

Understood.

I am well pleased with the Rancho 9 way adjustable shocks because you can dial them in to the firmness you like.

I have no experience with the QA1 shocks but I know some of the guys on here are running the QA1 coil overs.

I think @randeez is running them but I can't remember who else has them.
