So i really hate the fact that i have no control over my 03 tahoe headlight's, I was wondering if i pull the auto headlight fuse will that affect anything else? My headlight switch does not allow me to turn off my lights at night, the switch is spring loaded so that it will not stay in the off position. I see where there is an LED light buy the off part of the switch but it doesn't let me turn em off. Any ideas??

i haven't tested it in this vehicle, but i know in my grand am, if i pushed the ebrake just 1 tick (enough to turn the light on on the dash but not enough to have any effect on the vehicle) it'd let me turn the lights off.

If you push the dome over ride button a few times you will hear a chime and you will be able to turn them off and push it a few more times and hear another chime and they're back to auto.

That is the ticket, found that out a few weeks ago from another member on here, I've wondered how to do that for years now!! Also if you start your truck with the parking brake on, the lights will stay off!

It worked on mine but my switch is different, I've never messed with an 03. I thought they would be the same, sorry I'm out of ideas.

I have an 04' and my Tahoe headlights come on with the E-Brake when I power it on. I have a switch that is spring activated and when I turn downward once the lights shut off. Due it again and back on . I can turn on the parking lights only also or sometimes I ride with the fogs and parking lights with no headlights. Lets me due pretty much all I want except turn on vehicle in a dark area without lights coming on. I think they are different. My friend has an 03 Yukon and her lights don't come on and I beleive hers is like yours..

The way I do it is I turn the truck on, I always use my e brake, and push the dome override button 4 times in less than 5 seconds. This will disable the auto headlights on my 2000, not sure if 2003+ is the same.

Not sure if it works with our Burbs/Hoes, but when I had my 2001 Camaro I removed the light sensor out of the top of the dash and cut a paper clip in half and stuck one end into each side of the connector where the light sensor plugged into. No more auto head lights. Had to use the switch from then on.

A little trick us F-body owners all did.

Well, I just ran outside and try the auto-headlight disable feature on a 2002 Suburban.

I pressed the "interior light disable" button four consecutive times and the truck chimed once and my headlights turned off as well as all dash and radio lights.

From there, turn the selector switch clockwise 45 mechanical degrees and this will turn on the dash lights and the center console.

By turning it another 45 degrees the headlights will come on!

YAY! how neat.

I be creepin' up on peeps now. yeeee

I think that your switch may be bad. i just went out to try it on my 06' and I have the same light toggle as the 03-06. All you have to do is when it is in the "auto" position, take the knob and twist it to the left. When your lights are automatically on the LED by the auto will be lit up green. But, when you turn it to the left that LED will turn off and then the red LED by the off switch will turn on BUT, THE KNOB WILL NEVER STAY IN THE OFF POSITION, IT WILL ALWAYS GO BACK TO AUTO.
