Anyone upgraded the factory sub?

Like the title says has anyone upgraded the factory subwoofer in the factory box with a aftermarket amp? Or built some kind of ported box to fit in the same location if possible?i would like to keep the 3rd row usable.I'm just curious if it would be worth it in that little sealed box.i never heard it with the factory amp because the vehicle came with the factory amp bypassed
