SW CT,
Today could not end much worse, I was hear a "thudding" type sound coming from the rear of my tahoe only when going over some bumps, turned out being a bad shock so in went some RS9000xL's. Got everything wrapped up and me and my son went for a quick ride, well I thought it would be quick. These shock did make a noticeable difference, but after leaving a stoplight...right at the 1-2 shift and BAM!!! :Plugged:bye, bye all forward gears and neutral is locked up too..great, just fkn great...so much for starting my turbo install this weekend.:emotions122: This is the 2nd trans. first went at around 50-60k was rebuilt to basically a Stage 5 build, guess it's making more hp/trq than I thought...UGH!

i may be mistaken, but i dont see your mods making TOO MUCH POWER, what i do see is most people running a BLACK BEAR tune....( NOTHING AGAINST BLACK BEAR ) but most might not realize that when reducing torque managment, you are putting some undo streese on the trans internals. with the mods you have done to your trans.... i find it hard to believe that you broke it, i would be looking at the trans builder for some faults.

Shawn don't forget the transmissions on these SUVs/Trucks are pretty weak. They cannot handle aftermarket power at all. The tune and TM removal has little to do with it. GM puts excessive TM on their TCMs because they use weak transmissions and don't want service lines packed with a bunch of angry customers with a screwed drive train. Solely removing it is not going to lead to transmission failures because you are just getting a bit more power. There are more people with tunes that remove TM that don't have problems compared to people with no tune that still have tranny issues.

Back on topic, sorry about that InTruck. At least inow you can get a tranny that can handle the turbo power.

As far as the trans builder and removing trq management being the issue I can say that just isn't the case here. Tune has more trq management than most people on here with a BB tune are running, took a couple months of logging and adjustments to get it spot on. As of now, before opening it up it appears to be either the forward sprag or the Circle D converter...won't know exactly until its opened up...looking at getting a 4L80e and doing a swap so I don't have to worry about it once the front mount is up and running.

Geez that sucks! Didn't the sprag go out last time? Yeah with a stage 5 tranny upgrade, it should be able to handle a lot of power. I wanted to do the Monster tranny upgrade but now I will also consider the 4l80e.

Keep us updated regarding the issue. Good luck!

As a side note, does the Ranch 9000s have an extended length shock for the NNBS? Only ones I have found specific for us are from Bilstein - 5100s (without getting a custom offroad race shock). Once you get more miles on those please post a review (hopefully offroad use also).

i willl say that i am new to the 900 series trucks....but like i said, wth his tranny mods, it should not be breaking YET ! like i have also stated, the removal of trq mng, is causing great harm, it just takes a few miles to discover it.....allowing the truck to fuel completely and transfer power at low rpm, high torque senarios, it is only a matter of time before you over power the smaller weaker 4-6 clutches or sprags..... i just battleled a high HP cummins with a 6 speed, the internals are way under sized, not to mention the hard parts to apply enough pressure to hold the trq.

i also had bistein 7100 on the dodge.....you should be all over the bilstein versus the CRAPPO 9000....the 5100 is a specific off road shock, all though it works better at speed to push through the relatively stiff valving, it is a little stiff for a slow crawling enviroment.

SW CT,
Well, got it out and opened up...snapped the output shaft which in turn welded the beast sunshell and 5 pinion planetary together also the converter was wearing on the pump...strange..no way I am making the amount of power to snap the output shaft, I could see if I had the turbo on it, but not N/A. Rebuilding it back to stock specs, truck is going back to stock performance wise.

Wow that is crazy that the output shaft snapped on basically stock power! Was the output shaft OEM?

No turbo build anymore :(?
