Aftermarcet Headunit

Hi from Sweden.
I got a 2011 Suburban LTZ. Dual roof Dvd.screens and a head inut w/o a screen.
Are there an aftermaket head unit that workd whit the stock DVD-screens and steering wheel volyme control? and also the USB-port in the center console?

Hard to do? I'm thinking of the wiring

I installed an Android head unit after reading review about them here.

You can find them on Amazon or eBay too, and other brands make them.

The USB port in the console should not be too hard to do.
As for maps, you can add a card, or use your phone for WIFI to the unit to get current maps/traffic.

welcome, at minimum the rear seat entertainment needs to send audio to an input on whatever headunit you go with, i am not sure how the radio controls work in the rear of mine, i'm not back there and my kid doesnt ever mess with them, they may work on the same wiring as the steering wheel controls, and thus just need to be programed to a function. steering wheel controls are pretty easy to set up, even more so on the android units because they are programable. the usb in the center console uses a mini usb to connect to the stock radio you will need an adapter to keep it there.
if you want to play video from the head unit to the rear screens you will need an additional y-harness that provides an input to the screens
i'm a fan of the android units, mine has been in and working well, fit is acceptable, and way more versatile than the oem nav (for me)

I have no experience with these android head units.... but I agree.... the stock Navi sucked big time... atleast in the 2008 trucks... don't know about the newer ones.

So I checked out Eonon, and it didn't specifically say it would fit a 2014 Tahoe LTZ. Is this the same one you got?

It fits in the dash, if you have a low/no optioned vehicle it might work but if you have bose/nav/xm etc head unit it wont unless they've updated the wiring harness (doubt it) it wont be plug and play. The 2012+ use a different interface harness

lets say they haven't updated the harness, you think it would be really difficult to splice things together?

I'd really like to find a good Android unit for this 2014. Not having much luck finding one out there.

It's not hard, I had to do it to install one in my 2012, common wiring is easy...power ground 12v switch all speakers, triggers for reverse etc are easy. But theres a few "extra" wires and no real identification on the android unit. And havent been able to find pin out for later year GM plug

I think the USB is only retained if HU has option. I never seen a module that will give a HU USB without HU having it.

Most pioneer/kenwood will do everything you want. You are just looking for a HU that has dual zone. USB is standard with any HU you buy today pretty much. Its the DUAL ZONE you have to look for.
