Guys,
I did a search and couldn't find anything on this. In my tahoe, the center console had a spot for a 12v oultlet that was not cut out yet. I cut out the hole and installed a lighter socket with a double usb port ofr charging the kids' kindles in the backseat. I am looking to power it so that it is only on with the ignition, so I'd like to use one of those "add a fuse" deals and run it from the fuse box by the driver's door. DOes anyone know if any of the fuses in there are only hot with the ignition on? if not, I can run it to the fuse box under the hood, but i have not found a way through the firewall yet...

Just run to the ignition fuse (IGN0), its only on when the key is in the acc position. Its in the top left corner, its also on your fuse panel cover, 10A. Just make sure the amperage of the devices doesn't exceed 10 amps or youll blow it.

Edit: Scratch the ign fuses, it could be dangerous if you blow it. Just use the the (rdo) radio fuse.

Ok, well I installed it before I saw your edit, so I guess I should go switch it out now. ANyway, it seems to work ok in the IGN spot. Thanks!
