Hi everyone,

2021 Yukon SLT 5.3L with 73k miles. It's been hot where I am lately, so AC is getting used a lot. Recently I noticed that after driving with the AC on, I'll get out of the truck and hear a sizzling sound. After looking underneath, it appears to be the condensation dripping off the AC condenser, down the transmission/transmission pan, and landing on the exhaust. I know the condensation itself is normal, but does anyone else experience this same path where it drips down the transmission and onto the exhaust?

Yes. That is normal. There is another thread that states the engineers are probably trying to cool the transmission with the condensation. Thus the sizzling.

We haven't gotten our vehicle yet. Where does the rear AC drip, is it the rear right wheel?

I thought this was a rather stupid set up, if you plan on doing any work around your transmission, turn off the A/C compressor before you do any work or pull the vehicle up on ramps, otherwise you will get dripped on while under the vehicle. I learned the hard way when doing my valve body upgrade and checking and setting the trans fluid level.
