4wd question

For my new truck (99 hoe) i have no idea how long its been since the 4wd was used..am I safe to switch to 4 hi/lo to see that they work properly?

Do it on a soft surface like grass or dirt. I just bought a 96 ck1500 and just spun them on the grass to test the 4wd. Dont use 4wd on paved surfaces

Hey, that's a great idea!

I'm not too ashamed to say that I used dry pavement to feel the binding to test the 4wd when I bought my truck. But the advantages of using grass or dirt is very apparent. I read this and was like 'Duh, why didn't I think of that." :Handshake:
