This is definitely not acceptable in brand new truck! Especially around seams this is always an area of concern as they usually spread.

Take it back to the dealer and keep us posted. Stuff like this always gets worse over time!

I don’t think he bought it new … seems like it 2500 miles on it… could have been in an accident or something or someone swapped headlights and taillights then traded it in….

I’ve often joked I will not buy another car again until I first wash it.

This happened to me on my 2022 Denali. I had chips in the paint where it would be impossible for the chip to be caused by a rock or anything I would have done washing it. The dealership said to take it to a local body shop, and the owner looked over it with a fine tooth comb. He found two other spots that he guessed were from the assembly line also, so he wrote up a report and sent it to the dealership. The paint repair was covered under warranty. A pain in the ass...but at least it was covered.

Both my 22 Yukon Denali and my 24 Yukon XL AT4 both had terrible paint defects where there was dirt/debris under the paint. The color of both is Summit White. The dealership sent both to the body shop to have the paint fixed and they looked factory new after. I’d suggest you take it in and have it fixed.

I buffed mine out when I got it and saw two spots with debris under the paint and one spot where the factory clearly sanded and tried to blend before top coat.

Its been known that these new models have fairly crummy paint jobs. I read about it quite often. My ex’s 22 high country in pearl white had small defects all over. No chips per-say, but small pieces of debris under the paint and just small areas that were poorly painted.

Pretty sad on a brand new vehicle that is this expensive. It should be PERFECT!

I bought a new 2024 Tahoe Premier 4x4 and found numerous paint defects after purchase when I hand-washed the vehicle for the first time (even though I thought I looked over the exterior and interior well in bright sun before purchase). The vehicle has the optional, extra-cost, pearlescent white.

There was small dirt contamination under the paint or clear coat along the right side.

Both side rear doors had hardened paint drips at the bottom, rear end of the doors.

The right side of the hood also had a hardened paint drip on the underside of the hood edge, by the fender top.

Three months after purchase I received a long survey from GM via email. I completed it and marked several areas as “completely dissatisfied”, including the paint.

I was never contacted by the dealer or GM as a follow up. I was surprised at no follow up - I thought GM would want to know why a customer was so dissatisfied?

I did not take the vehicle back for paint repairs under warranty because I was worried the dealer would do more harm than good.

Surveys are just to show their boss that they’re trying. I stoped wasting my time on surveys years ago.

My 2016 Tahoe has the paint delamination issue and I had to repaint the hood and roof because of it. I came to forum to see if there has been any updates. After reading through this thread, I doubt I'll buy another Chevy. They apparently don't believe in quality control. Sad because I've always been a Chevy guy.

Every manufacturer has their share of problems….EVERY SINGLE ONE… it basically comes down to personal preference and the lesser of two evils…..Just sayin

Looks like your rig was assembled on a Friday afternoon and they were trying to get tf out of there to go drink some breskis. No excuses, makes me want to go double-check mine bc I haven't really examined around the lights at all.

I would expect some flaws in all sorts of areas, if you really get to looking close. Paint drips, debris under the paint and just flat out shoddy spots are all very common.

It's my choice of what I buy or don't buy. Just like it's yours. My point is if Chevy my favorite auto brand cannot stand behind their work, then that's a very sad commentary of their manufacturing and the backing their product. When and if I buy another brand (and I have had many), I will do the necessary research (like a forum like this) to help make that future purchase.

I could give two rips about other manufacturers problems in this discussion, because it does not pertain to Chevy not backing up failed paint jobs of hundreds of thousands of vehicles.

I have a Harley that had a manufacturing flaw in the engine where the pistons were too small for the cylinders (or vice versa of the cylinders are too big). Did Harley back up their product and repair the engines? No! Just like Chevy, Harley never admitted the motor company was at fault. And it all boils down to money!! That's why Chevy is fighting the paint issue in court. It probably would cost Chevy millions in payments/reimbursements.

There used to be a day in America years ago, where American companies would take responsibility for the products they sell.

Just say'n...
