SUBURBAN UPDATE: Dealer I originally placed the order with Did Not receive allocation, again. 9 weeks, no allocation!

I called 8 dealers around OKC, told them Suburban, Z71 w/ 3.0. Most said, "OK, I'll let you know if we receive allocation..."

One Dealer called back, he said "Hey, we actually have the option to swap out a 5.3 engine, with a 3.0 if you want it".... GIDDY UP!!!

Suburban Z71 w/3.0 - accepted by GM on 5/6/25.

He said 2 to 3 months before taking possession.

I placed my order in Dec, but diesel production didn't start till march, but more importantly my dealer didn't get allocation for this vehicle till around April 1st. Once order was accepted at GM, we got a TPW w/in a few days...

Z71 Tahoe 3.0. Just got my order accepted. Took 8 weeks. My dealer told me the delay had been the sunroof. Good luck everyone! Seems like they are opening up. FYI. Dealer also told me they don’t accept new order after end of may as the switch happens over to 2026 model.

Admittedly, I know little about the mass production process but it seems like this is unnecessary complicated. I put my order in, and was accepted in late Feb, build was last week in March (w/sunroof in HC deluxe) and took delivery in late April. My suspicion is that the demand for 3.0s is low enough they just don’t prioritize it. With the stop sell on 6.2s that May free up time on production line.

Demand may be low, but their value is high and going higher. With this 6.2 debacle I see the value of both new and used Duramax Tahoe's and Yukon's going up, may be significantly....

Talked to the dealer this weekend - they are expecting my XL AT4U 3.0 to arrive on the lot tomorrow (5/13), so a bit earlier than GM's ETA of 5/16. PDI on Wednesday so maybe pick up on Thursday!

Stop sale only applies to unsold 2024 in dealer inventory. 2025 6.2 is good to go no recall or stop sale.

Do we know of anyone here on these forums who works for a Chevy dealership? I'd like to know if they are ever going to remove the restriction on their Suburban Z71 and allow the 3.0 Duramax to be paired with 2nd row bench seats. I've talked to 3 dealerships who tell me I can't order one like that and they claim not to know why or if it will change.
