My right tail light started intermittently not working a week ago. You could tap the light and it would light up. Viewed a few repair mods on you tube so decided to try it tonight.
Used an exacto knife and a candle to heat so it was a timely effort but was trying to not butcher the housing.
The upper spot was cracked and lower was still perfectly in tact. Went ahead and tinned the metal board and layed a piece tinned 16g stranded wire on and evenly attached to the metal board. Cleaned up the cut off edges and hot glued them back in place creating a water proof seal to keep moisture out.
Came out pretty good and works like new.
