Apologies in advance for the long post! Started on this path almost two months ago: flashing engine light. Scanner identified ‘misfire on cylinder 6’. Did some coil troubleshooting (switched a couple), same misfire on cylinder 6, so went down the fuel injector path. Hubby started to replace but fuel rail was near impossible to get off, even after a couple hours w a crowbar
Decided to take it to the shop and had all 8 injectors replaced due to the labor involved, fuel rail requires ‘special tool’ to remove. Resolved the flashing check engine light but still not running great and (solid) engine light back on within a couple days....back to shop....says new O2 sensor is needed. So new O2 sensor resolves engine light but truck still runs like crap, particularly at low idle. Shop says they think it runs fine and no error code so nothing they can do. So we take it to the dealership this time and same thing - they think it runs fine, no error codes, BUT they’re happy to replace plugs and wires to see if that helps, so we do. Get it back, still runs like crap at low idle. Then finally the other day, solid engine light again. Deciding to return to the ‘backyard mechanic’ route. Autozone scanned and gave a P219A code...still a fuel/air ratio issue. So, hubby thinks they may have screwed something up with the original injector replacement...something about the Teflon seal/gasket getting crooked or not sealing right? I’m curious if the fuel rail got bent from all the prying on it to get it out. Looking for anyone with similar issues who’s ‘solved the puzzle’....can’t afford to drop another $2K to still have a crappy running truck. Also, if we need to dig back into the injectors, anyone know where to get the fuel rail removal tool for a 2016 Yukon Denali (6.2L engine)?
