2007 GMC XL 2500 SLT2 with navigation

I have a 2007 GMC XL 2500 SLT2 with navigation. My question is, when I open the driver side door, I can hear the nav making noises. The noise sounds like a CD/dvd player when your flipping through the tracks. Is this normal? This is with the car off, key is not inserted. It just sits there and makes noises.

You sure its the nav unit and not your climate controls under the dash?

My 09 Tahoe with nav does this, it's normal. It's the nav disc in the dash. Nothing to worry about.

It’s normal. My 09 Suburban 2500 does it too, I happened to be reading the Nav manual or one of the other small books with the owner’s manual and it describes it as normal.
