2005 Suburban rear hatch supports

The lift supports/struts on my rear hatch are getting a little weak. I went online to order new ones and they show two types are available, a 1st design and a 2nd design. Can anyone tell me how to determine which ones I have ? Thanks.

I ordered the first design from RockAuto, for my 2005 Tahoe. They work well. It is so easy to close the hatch now, I have to be careful not to slam it every time. Now I open it about chest high and it takes over. I must have had originals on it, because it was a PITA.
