Replacing the Alternator @150,000 original miles .

On the rear left of the alternator is a 10mm threaded hole .
The old alternator had NO BOLT in it.
But all the Videos show it being installed.

Do I need to find one and replace it??
It does not seem to have any purpose….but don’t wanna firetruck up!

Any feedback would be appreciated

When you say “left side” are you referring to driver or passenger side?

There is a bracket that the rear of the alternator is mounted to. If that bracket is missing, then that threaded hole has no use.
