08 LTZ autoride...CCM??

I hate for my first post to be a question that has been asked a few times in the past...about 11 pages worth ( i have read most of them!) but I just want to make sure that I am doing the right thing here. I got rid of my 06 Silverado Crew Z-71 for an 08 LTZ with Autoride and I need it to look a little more aggressive! I am thinking of the CCM with 275-60/20's (and I can't decide which tire I want which is a problem in and of itself) but I am concerned about the autoride. For those that have done it what if any problems did you have? I would like to see as many pics as possible to help sway me!

What, exactly, is your question? You mention CCM, so I'm assuming you want to level it by raising the front. Is that correct? If so, how much do you want to raise it, and for what purpose?

I JUST (on Friday) added the ReadyLift adjustable front spacers to my '09 Tahoe (with autoride). I wanted to level the truck without also raising the back to do so, and so I had the spacers clocked to only 1". It's perfect. (I dabbled in the leveling-by-lowering arena for a while, and it was more of a headache than anything else, although it looked pretty good.) With this kit, nothing needs to be done to the autoride links -- and it rides like stock, because nothing is stretched or compressed in the front.

If you go with a kit that makes you add a spacer in the rear (like the CCM kit, since it raises the front too high to not also add some height in the rear), then you'll have to make some longer autoride links (if it doesn't come with them). That's easy to do -- just buy some all-thread from Home Depot and cut it to length accordingly.

I should have some pics up tomorrow. Let me/us know exactly what you're trying to achieve...

that's what I was wondering...I don't really want to have to mess with the autoride. I want to level the front out, and go about 1 size bigger tire. On my Z-71 I cranked the torsion bars just enough to fit 285-70/17's and I really liked the look. Not too much, just subtle enough to cause a second glance. I do pull a tralier a lot so I hope the Readylift doesn't cause a Cali-lean. Please post those pics when you get a chance...that may be just what I want.

First of all, with autoride, your truck shouldn't lean when you're pulling the boat, since the autoride will raise the rear when there's a load on it. Secondly, to avoid the Cali-lean look is why I got the ReadyLift adjustable kit -- anymore than 1" in the front, and I think the truck is going to look like it's leaning slightly.

The CCM kit has is a 2.5" spacer in the front and a 1" spacer for the rear. That's 1.5" of net lift in the front. Now, if you prefer 1.5" to 1", you can always clock the RL spacer to give you 1.5". You can set it to 1", 1.5", or 2". With the CCM, it's a front and rear lift (or else you'll net 2.5" in the front only, which is definitely going to look bad).

I'd consider the CCM if you're going with a larger off road tire, an RL if you just want to level the truck.

I have studied up on both of them...my concern is whether or not Autoride will be effected with the CCM.

I know that Autoride is affected when you lower (as the truck tries to raise the rear if the links aren't shortened). There's really no such thing as the truck trying to lower itself [if there's a spacer in the rear], so I'd imagine it would be fine. But, to be safe, I'd lengthen the links so that there aren't any issues.

Someone here HAS to have the kit on an LTZ...

Yep, stock tires on the stock 20"s.

I am wondering how the 275-60's would look...it adds one inch of diameter. I think it would be perfect.

Don't know, but I'd guess that they'd look great.

You could always check some posts to see what the guys who run 24"s are using for tires. Then, put that size into the miata tire size calculator (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html) and compare that to the size you're considering, and then you can at least see if you'd have any of the same rubbing issues that the 24"s guys have/don't have.
