Last september I replaced my ac compressor, all easily accessible hoses and lines, the orifice, dryer, sensors, pulley, belt and clutch fan.
System was working well through the mild florida winter. Spring comes around and continues to get hot and humid and I easily can tell my system is not blowing as cold as it should.
Messed around with the refr charge which I shouldn't have but 12 yrs driving it I usually have to add a little bit yearly, that didn't help just pissed me off.
Turns out my setup doesnt have a cabin air filter.. which is wild and can't believe I've never considered this before. Especially stupid because the molding has a spot for it.
Air flow also felt a tad bit less than full blast, and my rear AC was cooler than the front.
Anyways, here are part numbers and pics of how cheap and easy it is to go in and clean up the evaporator and install this kit.
I came across on these forums didn't fit, but the one below I just put in and fits perfect. (9"x10.5" I believe)
Hot utility knife and some sandpaper afterwards to clean up the ****** cuts.
Used a long soft nylon brush and vacuum and compressed air to clean up debris built up.
Then I used a $7 can of foaming evaporator cleaner from local auto parts store, jammed it up both the front and rear evaporator drains, and also sprayed it in the newly cut hole for the inlet filter.
Topped it off with a $10 can of r134a I believe my low side pressure was around 55psi when it was like 90F outside.
She blows ICE cold. Hope this helps someone.
