03 gmc has a bad battery drain

I changed out the main drivers door module on my 03 gmc yukon slt 5.3 and ever since then I have had a bad battery drainage problem. I changed the battery and the altenator and it is still draining. When I do charge it enough to drive it shuts off every time I stop. I tried to hook it up to a computer to get codes but I couldn't get that to work. It's driving me crazy. It ran great until I changed that module, I even tried putting the old one back on. Any advice would help tremendously.

Tell us more about the circumstances of the new parasitic draw -- what other work was done around the time of the DDM replacement and when you noticed the issue?

Is the replacement DDM GM OE, used, or aftermarket?

Unplug the new module or re install the old unit and see if your drain is gone. Might isolate where the drain is coming from.

Probably just coincidence about the door module... especially because you mentioned you swapped the old module back and no change.

You need to properly diagnose this. Watch a few videos on parasitic drain. South Main Auto has some good ones...

I think that your comment regarding getting into the back and having someone on the outside spray water on the truck with a garden hose warrants a try.
