This is what I have:

They're 12" (I think, maybe 10") Polk Audio. I don't want this. I want this:

IMG_1014.jpg

"Why the **** would you want to downgrade to a single 8"?" To use the 3rd row. One time too many have I had to take this thing out to use the 3rd row.

My truck doesn't have it bc 03+ have the sub in the center console. Where is it exactly btw?...

My question, if I get one from the junkyard (00-02, I assume) will it work on my truck (03)? Does it just bolt on?

I eventually plan on new doubles under the 2nd row, that's why I'm willing to give these up right now.

Gracias!

Haha good luck... The factory sub in the console is a 6.5...

I had the same problem as you. I downgraded from 2 15's when I got my Yukon. I miss it pretty much every day. However I have seen the damage they do to the vehicle in 2 different vehicles now. I am not going to do that to my Yukon.

So first I tried 2 8's in the stock location. Wasn't enough. Then a single 10 ported. Almost enough. Now my 10 is ported downfire in my center console and it's great. But I still want more lol.

6.5" wtf. I don't even want to bother to look up aftermarket ones in that size...

By stock location you mean under the dash right, I'm assuming you had custom boxes made for each of those setups?

No I tried 2 8's in the stock location in the rear. I started to fiberglass the whole wheel well section until I decided to test the output in wood first. Built a small sealed box for them. And placed them in front of the speaker grill And wasn't happy with it. Scrapped the project all together.

So I run a 10 RE sexd2 at 1 ohm 700 rms in the center console I custom built. http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55531&page=2

I think the 02 box will bolt right in. You'll have to cut out the speaker panel, unless you buy a panel that already has the holes in it to cover the sub. I dont think an 8inch sub will cut it for you tho, coming from 2 12s.

I think you'll be happier with 2 10s under the second row. I had one 12 under my second row and it slammed pretty hard for a 12. 8" subs don't really do too well unless you have a smaller car and you have multiple subs

Would a 12" or 10" fit under the console stock location? I know it's a smaller sub, but could it fit?

JL Audio makes a stealth box that holds a 10w3 that fits inside the stock console.
