    Looking for a steering box..HELP!

I've replaced all the steering and suspension components including upper and lower steering shafts about 3k miles ago. Popping the pitman arm off this time should be a breeze. I'm looking forward to the new box giving the ol' beast a 'like new' driving feel again at 172k.

    Looking for a steering box..HELP!

I purchased the 3009 box yesterday from Walmart ($459 total) and received notice today it is coming directly from Plews Edlemann in Dixon IL. It's scheduled to arrive on Wednesday. After reading praise for the brand from @mountie , me thinks I will be very pleased.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Throttle body woes. After 5 1/2 hours driving, a reduced power mode occurred limiting speed to about 35mph while on the freeway. I took the first possible exit with the engine light leading the way. Checked for codes, only P2101. Rare for a 2004 Tahoe said the code reader, but it offered a...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

No pic of it installed, sorry mate. But boy-o-boy do I like how quiet the beastie is now, even with a fan running.

    I installed E-fans on my 2001

I fought that nut for a good minute then made use of the bar the came with the 36mm wrench. Secured the bar to the pulley with a nut and bolt and added two cheater bars to break the nut free with a two man effort. It was that tight. Stupid tight. No reason to be that tight. Fan relays were...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Finally installed GM E-fans today with a harness from @ScottyBoy. Also swapped in the correct fuse box cover assembly. Aside from the fan nut getting me to cuss in cursive the task was uneventful. Belts, a pulley and tensioners were also replaced while under the hood. I used HPTuners to turn...

    I installed E-fans on my 2001

Mission accomplished although that frickin' big nut had me cussing in cursive. I did not have a slick articulated wrench that attaches to an impact driver. I also refuse to beat on an engine with a dead blow hammer as sooooo many Youtube videos suggested. Leverage and two cheater bars...

    I installed E-fans on my 2001

I added a tray to move the jack, hitch and oddities up front that are normally stored in the back jack storage space. I'm still looking for an appropriate sized box to button it up.

    Remote kill switch

'01 Tahoe stolen and then recovered by a chance encounter with parking enforcement the next day in Los Angeles. Three more unsuccessful attempts to steal within three years after that. A brake pedal lock proved to be undefeated when used after the first theft. Driver's door lock was popped each...

    I installed E-fans on my 2001

Ooof, I needed to see this. My setup to add efans and a harness from @ScottyBoy has been sitting on a shelf for too long. It's time to get off my duff. I see an auxiliary battery tray in your photo. Plan to add a second battery in the future?

    E85 Tahoe

I filled up on Tuesday at $2.49/gal for E85 here in SoCal. Compared to $5.70/reg and $6.10 for premium, I gladly take the 2 to 3mpg loss from E85 vs gas. Lower tailpipe emissions are a bonus.

    Tahoe/Yukon Headlight Information Thread

I recall something odd about the plug orientation / labeling on mine. Precisely what is was escapes me now. Running, signal / brake, and reverse lights all worked as expected. As noted earlier, adding a resistor to the LED brake light's wire was required to maintain use of the cruise control.

    Tahoe/Yukon Headlight Information Thread

I installed that same style a couple years ago and am very pleased with the look. I also had to add resistors to regain cruise control functionality. Running lights and brake/signal illumination.

2005 Yukon. Fan in the roof between the 2nd and 3rd row seats

Should you tackle replacing the aspirators yourself, here's a preview of what to expect in this post. Refer to earlier posts in the thread for the front unit. (Wonky link - scroll up a few posts once the page loads.)...

2005 Yukon. Fan in the roof between the 2nd and 3rd row seats

Co-signed. Definitely replace the aspirator with a Genuine GM part. I went aftermarket the first time and ended up replacing both units in less than a year.

very light whirring (fan?) sound from second row headliner area

It's probably the rear aspirator. The front aspirator is located in the headliner above the driver's seat. They are the temperature measuring component of your climate control system. Here's a thread chatting about them and a write up I did on how to replace the rear unit on page three...

Ah yes, silver birch on a Tahoe. Spoken like a true connoisseur of fine colours. :gay:

I stated using WIX Racing Filters. Being a couple inches longer there is more to grab.

    Fuel smell in cabin

I traced my fuel smell to a faulty fuel pressure regulator. It was actually dripping fuel very slowly. Replaced it and no more smell.

    Sunroof stuck open

Also not helpful - I looked into having one installed in my first '01 Tahoe. It was going to be $2,200. I went for 22" wheels & tires instead.

    Sunroof stuck open

If it proves to be the motor, I'd remove the A, B and C pillar covers on the passenger side. Then drop the entertainment console to access the sunroof motor from a rear seat or the passenger side. Here's a wider view of what lurks above the headliner for references.

    Sunroof stuck open

Should it turn out to be the motor, this is what it looks like as seen from the rear seats. The two blue Torx bolts hold it in place. If you need to source one online, also query Mercedes Benz ML320 from '98 to '05 in addition to your '03 Tahoe. It is the same Siemans motor, made in Germany, and...

    Removing my roof rack..... ?

I removed the crossbars due to a low clearance issue entering a garage. I've not noted any differences in wind noise or MPG. It does look a touch cleaner now than before with only the side rails remaining in place. I've used the roof rack once in 2.5 years. Should it be needed again, 15...
