2005 Tahoe blowing hot on driver, but cold everywhere else

I belive based on my research and calling local auto parts stores that Murray PN DA 1046 is the proper part. I probably won't use the Murray part, but that at least gave me a PN to start x ref with. When I search that PN I also find Dorman x ref part 604-106, I see many reviews of people saying...

2005 Tahoe blowing hot on driver, but cold everywhere else

I'm not sure where I ever said I expected the blend doors to last forever. In fact, I went back and read my original post and I don't see how or why you feel thats what I was implying. I had a simple question of trouble shooting which one could be causing the exact issue we're currently facing...

2005 Tahoe blowing hot on driver, but cold everywhere else

This was exactly my thinking. Thank you! Since there are multiple actuators, are they all the same? Or is there a specific PN for that particular one? I rigged itup by pulling the plug keeping it on cold for now. Not a permanent fix, and no hot option, but its summer so always cold should be...

2005 Tahoe blowing hot on driver, but cold everywhere else

I only wanna hear from those who had this exact issue. I have no problems with it blowing on defrost when it shouldn't or anything like that at all. I think most of us shade tree mechanics know how bad the GM blend door actuators suck. Ours has the manual controls (no digital) if that matters...

2005 Escalade ESV Gas Filling Issue

I disconnected 2 or 3 lines. All going to left (driver side) side of canister. I believe its 2 large lines and then 1 small. Can't recall off top of head. Regardless, I pulled them all loose and pushed air at the filler neck.

    2005 Accumulator Schrader Valve question

I have as well. In fact, I changed the switch on this one a while back. But I can see dye around it which leads me to bleieve its a slow leak from there And yes, I also can see now that there is in fact a scrader valve behind the switch. Now I gotta find a PN for it

AC Delco has gone down the crapper like everything else

Hmm, thats odd. Yeah, in our case, I've used AC Delco PN 12677836 twice now. Both have failed within months. I literally took out and threw away a cheap knock off brand that I had purchased at Advanced Auto probably 5 or 6 years ago. I replaced it with this AC Delco one thinking the cheap one...

That's what I used. Twice now. PN 12677836

    2005 Accumulator Schrader Valve question

I have found our AC leak. Its definitely coming from the connection where the electrical pressure switch connects to the accumulator. We already replaced the pressure switch, but it has a slow leak. I have 2 questions 1) Is there a Schrader valve behind where that electrical sensor plugs in? I...

AC Delco has gone down the crapper like everything else

Our '05 had a Chinese brand oil pressure switch in it for like 5 years and it still worked. But I thought maybe I should change it for a better quality part since we were chasing an oil leak. So I spent the $59 on an AC delco one on 12/31. It lasted 30 days. Got is swapped under warranty for...

2005 UQ7 Bose Speaker size question

Actually, after tons more reading and video watching, I have discovered non Bose are 6.5 both front and rear. Bose on the other hand is 6.5 front, 5.25 rear. Many with Bose have put 6.5 in rear, but it requires modifications.

2005 UQ7 Bose Speaker size question

I have a really simple question. WTH is the correct speaker size for front and rear door of 2005 Tahoe with Bose? This question seems to have multiple answers. Even CRutchfield shows 5.25 as well as 6.5 size speakers. Can anyone tell me what size speaker is in the front and rear doors? We're...

    Need AC expertise HELP!

I'm a do it yourselfer. I was raised wrenching on muscle cars and motorcycles so I typically do everything myself unless of course its something I just don't want to deal with. Good honest mechanics are hard to find. I had one that would address issues of mine that I didn't feel like or have the...

    Need AC expertise HELP!

Yeah I'm aware this is a OTC shade tree fix. Its all good, I aint too worried about it. I checked it again this morning, and it seems to be holding steady pressure (for now). And it blows really cold As for leaks...Not seeing anything significant anywhere. I do recall last year when we realized...

    Need AC expertise HELP!

Added another 12oz can. system was still cycling on and off every time cooling fans would kicked on. But once I added enough to where the needle would stay in the green, the system stopped cycling on and off. It needs more as the needle is on the very edge of green. But it blows incredibly cold...

    Need AC expertise HELP!

I would imagine it has a leak. I mean, its 18 years old. Yes, I'm aware the R134a we put in may just run back out. Its not the end of the world. If that happens, then I'll know there is a good size leak that needs to be addressed. But if we do add R134a, and it blows cold till fall, then that'll...

    Need AC expertise HELP!

I belive its 43oz with fonrt and rear AC, which we do have. Which also means, we're still quite low. I think you're right about the fans. I was not prepared for that. In all the videos I watched, reading I did I did not see antying about the pressure dropping when cooling fans kicked on

    Need AC expertise HELP!

Update...my son had an errand to run roughly 15 miles round trip. I told him while he was driving, keep the AC and recirc buttons on just to allow the refrigerant to run through the system. He got home and his AC is much colder, and is staying on. Maybe it just needed more time for the...

    Need AC expertise HELP!

Late last year we noticed my son's '05 not blowing cold. Upon further investigation I discovered the compressor kicking on and off. Made sense, I suspected it was low on R134a. But, it was getting late in the year and cooler so we decided we would deal with the issue this spring. Today I bought...

    A/C Pro

Our Tahoe is needing a recharge. I don't doubt there is a slow leak, but for the time being I'm planning to charge it. Is A/C Pro a good option? I see many different R134A options. I assume they're all similar. Was gonna grab what I hear works. Curious on feed back from those who have used it

    Cam Position Sensor O ring

Right! I’m the same, which is why I’m wanting to attempt an ORing versus new sensor. However, I see some people asking if a re-learn is needed. I’ve changed CPS in other vehicles, and I literally start it right up with no issues when done. Don’t really understand people saying re-learn is...

    Cam Position Sensor O ring

Yeah, I could do the sensor. It’s not hard. Was just curious if an o ring could be replaced since our sensor is fine. It seems CPS o rings are available for many other vehicles. Find it hard to believe one wouldn’t be available for 5.3

    Cam Position Sensor O ring

Does anyone know if you can do just the ORing? I’m sure you can, but not sure of O ring size, or if there is one made specifically for this. If so, do you have a PN? I’ve use Mahle seals in the past, but can’t seem to find one for this application. Our cam sensor is fine except I’m pretty sure...
